If you're a Marquette fan, you may want to take some strategic time off from work to catch Marquette during the Big East Tournament. I'll run down some of the time scenarios.
With Marquette's last five games, it will be extremely difficult to place first or second in the conference. Therefore, I'll start with the 3 seed.
If Marquette is the 3 or 4 seed, Marquette will get a double-bye, meaning they won't play until Thursday, March 12th. If they're the 3 seed, they'd play at 8pm on Thursday, followed by a game at 8pm on Friday. Therefore, you would be able to watch their games easily.
If Marquette is the 4 seed, they'll play at 1pm on Thursday and 6pm on Friday. Likewise, if Marquette is the 5 seed, they'd play 1pm on Thursday and 6pm on Friday, but they'd also have to win a 1pm game on Wednesday. If that's the case, your lifestyle is going to be Mad Men-esque win three hour lunches and a buzz throughout the workweek.
If Marquette ends up with the 6 seed, they'll play the same as the 3 seed games with 8pm on each of Thursday and Friday, but they'll also add an 8pm game on Wednesday.
With wins over both teams standing at 7-5 in the Big East, Cincinnati and Providence, the Golden Eagles essentially have a 4 game lead to be in the top six seeds. I don't even want to think about what would have to happen to fall below the 6 seed.
There you have it: 3 seed or 6 seed, work as you normally would; 4 seed or 5 seed, start coming up with excuses.
